Is an Integrative Soma Session a Good Fit for Me?

This is a question I am often asked.

Over the years, I have come to believe that many of the challenges we face cannot be solved through insight alone. While understanding ourselves is important, lasting change often requires us to include the body in the process.

Our experiences, relationships, and life transitions shape not only the stories we tell about ourselves, but also how we feel, respond, and move through the world. At times we may find ourselves stuck in familiar patterns, disconnected from our needs, overwhelmed by stress, or uncertain about what comes next.

Many people who come to this work have already spent considerable time thinking about their challenges. What they are seeking is not necessarily more information, but a different way of listening…one that includes the wisdom of the body alongside the mind.

An Integrative Soma Session may be a good fit if you are curious about yourself and open to exploring your experience through multiple lenses, including embodiment, mindfulness, relationship, personal meaning, and lived experience.

You do not need to have a specific problem to solve.

You may simply feel that something in your life is asking for attention.

Together, we create a supportive space to slow down, listen more deeply, and explore what becomes possible when awareness, curiosity, and compassion are brought to the places that need them most.

While my work is informed by contemporary studies in psychology, attachment, development, trauma, mindfulness, yoga, and embodiment, I am not a licensed psychotherapist and Integrative Soma Sessions are not psychotherapy or a substitute for mental health treatment.

What Happens in a Session?

Every session is unique because every person is unique.

Some sessions begin with a question, a challenge, or a life transition. Others begin with a feeling that something isn't quite right, even if there aren't words for it yet.

Together, we create space to slow down and explore what is asking for attention. Depending on your needs, our work may include conversation, reflection, mindfulness, embodiment practices, nervous system awareness, values exploration, and practical tools that support meaningful change.

There is no agenda to fix you or force a particular outcome.

Instead, we listen with curiosity—to the mind, the body, and the deeper wisdom that often emerges when we slow down enough to hear it.
